Due to visa issues, the Asian team will be using two stand-ins for the LAN in Santa Monica, California.
The Legends Cup, which is scheduled for February 10-11, will feature four teams from three different regions: North America, Europe, and Asia. Recently, AGO pulled out of the tournament and were replaced by runners-up PRIDE.
Now 5POWER, the Asian mixture featuring players from China, Mongolia, and Thailand, that won their regional qualifier and earned a spot at the global LAN, revealed that they weren't able to secure visas for all five of their players in time. The visa applications of the two Chinese members, Peng "xiaosaGe" Song and Lei "forget" Li, were declined twice, so the team was forced to find stand-ins.
The first one is the North American player David "Toy" Han, last seen playing with Denial, but inactive over the last three months. The second one is Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga, whose loan to 5POWER was approved by his Australian team Grayhound, currently ranked #33 in the world.
Even though 5POWER currently have three Mongolians in the team, they have confirmed that team will continue to use English for in-game communication.
5POWER will have the following lineup for Legends Cup:
Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold
Bat-Enkh "kabal" Batbayar
Kitikawin "PTC" Rattanasukol
Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga (stand-in)
David "Toy" Han (stand-in)
